
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - January 19th 2008) was an American theatre, film television, voice actress. 1 Pleshette started her career in the theatre and then began to appear in films towards the end of the 1950s. Later, she appeared in prominent films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). Later, she was in various television productions and was often as a guest actor. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978 and received a number of Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31, 1937. The parents of the couple were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was an artist, dancer and choreographer who was stage-named Geraldine Rivers.
